Dear Kalkaska Library Patrons,

You’ve probably heard that this-past Saturday’s heavy rainfall caused substantial flooding in our basement. The library wishes to express sincere thanks to Kalkaska County’s Mayjor Bole for being on-site Saturday to advise and assist us, and to Zack and the rest of the excellent Paul Davis Restoration Company for being on-site within an hour of being notified. Their quick response and expert remediation saved the library significant additional damage costs.

Nonetheless, the library’s basement is a mess. Please be patient as we get everything cleaned up and ready for you again. We’ll announce when the basement can be opened to the public here on the library’s website, and also on the library’s Facebook page. Please call us at (231) 258-9411 with any questions.

Finally, the library staff was touched by the many calls and messages of concern and support. We love our patrons and we’re working hard to get up and running at full capacity as soon as possible.

Thank You. We can’t wait to see you soon,

John Roberts
