Summer Reading Program

Have you heard of the “summer slide”? In education, this is the term for the tendency for kids to lose critical reading skills over their summer break.
The good news? Slowing down that summer slide is what the Kalkaska Library’s Summer Reading programming is all about.
Participate in challenges, earn prizes, and make visiting the library a regular part of your child’s summer fun!

Color Our World

In addition to engaging and educational reading challenges designed to keep improving your child’s literacy skills over the summer,
we also host a range of fun and exciting family-friendly events throughout June and July to encourage connection and community.
From musical performances to juggling and magic, and from puppetry to guided nature visits, celebrate Summer in style!
