The Kalkaska Conservation District and the Kalkaska County Library present: The Kalkaska Conservation Series!

Join us on Wednesdays in April at 5:30pm at the Kalkaska County Library to learn about a different aspect of out beautiful natural environment here in Northern Michigan! All gatherings are free to attend and open to the public. We hope to see you there!

On Wednesday, April 5, join us for “Forest Forensics” with Julie Crick, MSU Extension.

Forest Forensics is the art and science of using clues to determine the history of a local area. Clues range from geologic landforms that influence the underlying soil type, tree growth forms that provide evidence of past events, and remnant human-constructed infrastructure. In this session, we’ll focus on the influences of natural forces and management activities on forested stands.
